Abisola Akintunde (Ashabee) is an award-winning global makeup artist, beauty educator and entrepreneur. She is the founder of the Ashabee brand which houses MakeupbyAshabee, BrowsbyAshabee, and the Bee Lashes cosmetic line.
Although an English major in University, Ashabee found her gift and love for makeup during her time in university, and quickly became the go to person on her campus for makeup services. Upon graduation, she decided to pursue makeup full time and moved to Lagos Nigeria where she received professional training.
Her professional makeup artistry career kicked off in 2012 and she has worked across bridal, red-carpet, TV, film and fashion. She was an in-house makeup artist (MUA) for African Magic and Black up before launching the MakeupbyAshabee brand.
Make-up by Ashabee premiered in Lagos Nigeria, and quickly rose to become the preferred bridal and celebrity makeup brand in the country.
Her signature flawless finish, prominent gele and professionalism got her attention in the bridal scene and allowed her serve hundreds of satisfied brides across different states in Nigeria and countries, and led to her rise as one of the top Nigerian bridal MUAs.
Outside of bridal artistry, her evergreen looks and signature brows made her a favourite of many, and got her a clientele of top celebrities, socialites, party rockers and celebrants.
Her accolades in the Nigerian beauty industry also include launching ‘Bee Lashes’ one of the pioneer beauty lines in the country, which has sold thousands of intentionally curated lash lines to makeup enthusiasts all over the world.
She has been able to replicate this goodwill in the United States of America where she is currently based. She has worked with brides, celebrities and on sets including steve Harvey and Netflix Love is Blind, and is quickly becoming a highly sought after MUA.
She also recently launched Brows by Ashabee which offers semi-permanent makeup services including ombre brows and microshading.
Ashabee has a flair for teaching and learning and she has trained over 1,000 students in online & virtual classes on the techniques and trade of makeup artistry.
Her curriculum is known to be relevant, and generous with practical teaching style – simple and practical.
